Public Safety Smart Technology (PSST!)

Free 10-Week Training

PSST! Training is an 84-hour training program in smart home and commercial automation solutions including camera installation, home computer networking, home energy efficiency technology, and remote monitoring

PSST! Training will include:

  • Hands-on training + extensive lab work
  • Intro to basic IP networking + Cisco
  • OSHA 10-hour Certification
  • Social media tools for public
  • Surveillance services and technology
  • Business training for subcontracting
  • Neighborhood crime prevention

All trainees must pass background check

October 7 - December 20

Wednesdays (6-9pm) and Saturdays (9am-1pm), additional days will vary based on trainee availability

PSST! is a collaboration of the Community Resource Team (CRT) and Connecting for Good to improve community safety, provide job training to local residents, and provide affordable home security options to residents. Surveillance cameras will be installed on private homes and in public locations identified by neighborhood associations. Startup funding for PSST! was provided by the U.S. Department of Justice Bryne Criminal Justice Innovation grant.
